Record sales of electric vehicles and the new reality of the companies of the automotive sector
ARAN is always attentive to all the news and innovations of the sector and is always concerned to support the member companies to rapidly adapt themselves to the future trends. We have “ on the table” several topics where analysis should be carried out with our members to provide the companies with solutions, meeting their necessities.
Sales statistics of March confirmed the expectation of the new sales records for new electric vehicles (BEV + PHEV) with 5,992 units sold, which represents a year-on-year variation of 88.1%. In the case of 100% electric vehicles (BEV) the year-on-year variation in March was 103.2% with 3,827 vehicles sold in all vehicle categories, light and heavy, passenger and goods.
This is one of the sectors 's “hot topics” that ARAN follows closely. The electric car market has been growing rapidly and will continue to grow in the future. Consumer preferences, Europe's strategic plan focused on the "green deal" and the automotive industry with a very strong commitment to the development and production of electric models completely change the automotive market. This trend will force companies to adapt a lot. ARAN has planned several meetings with the associate members where the objective is to provide solutions for the adjustment to the new reality : it will be necessary to invest in the reskilling of human resources to respond to these trends, to invest in digitization, in new learning and in urgent updating of the companies.
The 3rd edition of the #CONNECTeurope forum, scheduled for September 14th and 15th, in Berlin, will be a very important stage for analyzing the current situation of the sector and a unique opportunity to share ideas and opinions.
